How Your 360 Insurance Works

While you’re waiting for a request

This is sometimes referred to as Period 1 in the world of a TNC like Uber and Lyft.  This is the time you spend driving around on app waiting to be chosen for a ride.  Since 360 rides are all pre-scheduled and you have chosen which rides you will take, there is no period 1

On your way to pick up a rider

This is sometimes referred to as Period 2 or En-Route—it occurs while you drive to pick up a rider but before they get into your car.  You are covered by our insurance policy for two things: 1) your liability to a third party, and 2) any injuries due to an uninsured or underinsured motorist.

Third party liability coverage
This insurance covers your liability for damages to any third party such as another driver, pedestrian, or property in case of an accident when you’re at fault. The coverage amount is at least $1 million of total liability coverage.

Uninsured or underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage
This insurance covers any occupant of your vehicle in case of an accident where another party is at fault, but does not have insurance or is underinsured. This also covers hit and run accidents where the at-fault party cannot be identified. The coverage amount is $1 million of total coverage for bodily injury.

While a rider is in your car

This is Period 3.  When a rider is in your car, you have the same coverage as you do on your way to pick them up, plus the rider in your car is covered. You are covered by our insurance policy for two things: 1) your liability to a third party, and 2) any injuries due to an uninsured or underinsured motorist.

When driving your car for personal use

Since you are not driving on the 360 platform during this period, you are not covered by our insurance policy for driver-partners. Any accidents that occur in your car while not driving with 360 are covered by the personal auto insurance coverage that you purchase on your own.

All 360 Driver Partners must have a personal auto policy as required for the state in which they are driving.  In addition, 360 Care LLC strongly recommends that partners have additional coverage known as Rideshare insurance.  These policies will cover a rideshare driver whether he or she is “on the clock” or just driving for personal reasons giving you extra protection against loss in case of an accident.  Here are some companies that provide RideShare Insurance.
